Careers.
Admin Army runs payroll, bookkeeping, finance functions, and system implementations for businesses across New Zealand and Australia. The work is operational, deadline-driven, and high-consequence. When we get it right, our clients stop losing sleep over the parts of their business that used to fall through the cracks. When we get it wrong, people do not get paid correctly or financial reporting cannot be trusted.
We are not looking for people who want to help out. We are looking for people who want to own it.
How we work.
The team operates across New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and India. Onshore leadership, offshore delivery. Every person on the team, regardless of location, works inside the same systems, follows the same processes, and is held to the same standard.
The work is 100% remote. No office, no commute. High trust, high expectation. You manage your own workflow and you are accountable for the outcomes. Nobody is going to chase you for updates or check whether you have started yet.
What we look for.
We are less interested in people who are good with numbers and more interested in people who can think. Technical skills matter, but they can be taught. The ability to look at a messy situation, work out what is actually going wrong, and fix it properly is harder to find and worth more in the long run.
The people who do well here are process-minded without being rigid. Accurate without being slow. Comfortable working inside structured systems where accountability is visible and feedback is constant. They take ownership of their work, flag problems before they become expensive, and get genuinely interested in building better processes.
They also tend to have a sense of humour about the work. Payroll gets weird. Systems break at inconvenient times. Clients say things that stay with you. If you cannot laugh about it, this will wear you down.
This probably is not for you if.
- You want a quiet corner to run the same task list every week without thinking too hard about it
- You find multiple clients and moving priorities overwhelming rather than interesting
- You prefer to work without structure and figure things out as you go
- You do not enjoy feedback, systems, or being held to a measurable standard
- You are looking for a role where someone tells you exactly what to do every morning
None of that makes you a bad operator. It means this particular environment will not bring out your best work.
What you get.
Remote work with genuine flexibility. A team of sharp people who actually enjoy what they do. Offshore processing support so you can focus on the work that needs your judgement. Structured systems that mean you spend your time on problems worth solving, not on chasing missing information or reinventing processes that should already exist.
You also get exposure to multiple client environments, which builds breadth faster than a single in-house role. When you are ready for more responsibility, the work is there. Growth here is earned by demonstrating judgement, not by waiting for someone to leave.
Regular virtual banter. Occasional in-person meetups. A shared obsession with doing things properly.
Interested?
We do not always have open roles, but we are always interested in hearing from people who think they would be a good fit.
